The Church:

The Church as a divinely inspired creation of God to preach the Kingdom of God, to live in harmony as God's community, and to obey and keep communion with the Lord Jesus Christ. Church means ekklesia (book of Acts) or the "called out ones." In scripture and in modern life we refer to the church as a fellowship of people who trust in Christ and share the baptism given for inclusion in the body of Christ as well as the communion with Christ and each other offered in the Lord's supper. "As many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons and daughters of God." (Scripture: Romans 8:14)

Vision Statement:

Our vision is to create a new paradigm of the Christian Church in Smyrna (Scripture: Without a vision the people perish)

Mission Statement:

Rooted in the loving ministry of Jesus as Lord; we commit ourselves to serving all persons with special attention to those who are seeking God and are vulnerable. Our Christian ministry is dedicated to spiritually centered, holistic discipleship, which sustains and improves the spiritual, emotional, and physical health of individuals and members of our community. We are advocates for a compassionate and just Christian way of life through our action and our words. (Scripture: Ephesians 4 & Matthew 28; 11-20)

Core Values:

We are based on five core values of the Kingdom of God as described by our Lord Jesus Christ. These are given in his sermon on the mount (Scripture: Matthew; 5-7)

1. Valuing ministry to the needs of people

2. Valuing the personhood of all people

3. Valuing the Word of God

4. Valuing the Worship of God

5. Valuing being a radical loving care group
